Hence, the Madrona Marsh preserves the physical and genetic diversity of the County. This is achieved by establishing biological resource areas. The Preserve also provides shelter for small mammals, insects, frogs, spiders, and reptiles.

Pacific Electric Railroad Bridge

This double-tracked arch bridge traverses throughout Torrance Boulevard at Bow Street. You would love to say thanks to Irving Gill who was the mastermind behind this architectural wonder. He laid the foundation of Pacific Electric Railroad Bridge in 1913. On July 13, 1989, Pacific Electric Railroad Bridge was honored by being placed on the list of the National Register of Historic Places. After Torrance High School, it became the second spot in the city to make an entry on the list of National Register of Historic Places. Pacific Electric Railroad Bridge was also acknowledged by the California Office of Historic Preservation. In 2013, the American Society of Civil Engineers acknowledged the bridge as a Local Engineering Landmark. Since January 1, 2000, the Pacific Electric Railroad Bridge has been serving as a symbol of Torrance as a part of the logo of the Torrance Police Department.
